NEWT-level study

Fifth-year students: one of your fellows asked me today about NEWT-level study in the Arts, and I realised I had not spoken to you all about my expectations.
Any student who earns a grade of E or higher on the OWL may continue in my classes at NEWT level without question. Students who receive a lower grade on the OWL, but wish to continue anyway: I would be happy to discuss the matter with you. I will be particularly lenient with those who only began their study of the Arts this year, but anyone who has a talent for the subject and merely tests poorly may make his case to me for inclusion.
Anyone with last-minute questions, meanwhile, may find me in my office all day tomorrow, save for class between 1 and 2PM and 4 and 5PM.
I will also be hosting a post-exam postmortem (and celebration) for my NEWT students, and any other seventh-year students who wish to accompany them, on Sunday after supper in my classroom. You have worked diligently and well during a trying year to prepare for exams; it is nearly time to celebrate their completion!
