We were surprised how suddenly Our Lord called us for the ceremony. We'd been told to expect rather a long period of consideration, but then really there was none of that.
I do wonder whether others will feel we were adequately... prepared? (I'm not sure sure that conveys quite what I mean.) Introduced.
